What's new?

I'm not working again. I was having some medical issues that forced me to quit. So I'm looking for a job that starts later than 6 am! It is nice being at home as a family at night to eat supper. One thing I definately missed working at the theatre.

We had a doctor appointment in Des Moines for Lindy's eyes and we don't have to go back there for 8 months. We do have to go to the eye doc in town in 4 months. We did a little shopping and we were in Scheels looking at the animals and her choice of words were "Wow, that's huge!" She is so incredibly funny! We had McD's drive thru on the way home cause I had a Church meeting at 7.

Dakotah is having a wonderful time in 1st grade. She is doing amazing. She is liking spelling; weird I know! She is still quite the reader. She loves going to the library. On a side note, she shares my love of Big Brother. This season is boring but so much fun since she is liking it, even though she doesn't quite get all of it. A favorite thing lately of hers to do is to go to the shooting range and shoot her gun. Now she wants to go turkey hunting with Grandpa Elscott. At least she is wanting to start small now. Before she wanted to go elk hunting with her Grandpa Elscott, uncle Greg, uncle Troy, uncle Doyle, and her dad in Wyoming. Nothing like starting off with the big stuff!

Jeff is incredibly busy at DI. He was doing about 3 seniors a day and since school has started that has gone down. He has been coming home a decent time only to go back around 9 til bout midnight.

County Fair

As some of you know, I LOVE the county fair, especially Jasper County. This year Dakotah got to show a bottle calf in the open show (7-21-10) along with 3 of her cousins, Alexis, Gage and Alyssa. She was extremely nervous, so Grandpa Elscott went in with her. He got her calmed down in no time! I'm very proud of all 4 of them, they did wonderful!! She has been "trying" to be brave going through the barns! It was funny listening to her and Alyssa!! "It's ok Dakotah, you can be brave!" The two of them ran from barn to barn over and over again. It's amazing how much Dakotah has grown in the past year. Last year I couldn't get her to go through some of the barns no matter how much convincing I did! When we were leaving she had to say bye to "Sparkles" before we left. As we were heading to the van she asked if we could come back tomorrow. I said no it was the last day. She then replied "Bye county fair I'll see you next year!" She makes me so proud!!!!

As I'm typing this she has Hassey on her leash all excited thinking she is going for a walk. She couldn't get her to go so she sits on her and says lets go! Good thing Hassey is well mannered and tempered. My poor dog is under her spell!! And Lindy just tags along...

Omaha Zoo

Yesterday we went to the Omaha Zoo. We had a wonderful time. We went with the Zondervan's (Jeff's sisters' family). Dakotah enjoyed a small water fight where she ended up getting soaked!! But she loved every minute of it!

Dakotah & Lindy's favorite part were the giraffes.

Lindy was Uncle Russ' girl all day. She had to know where he was at all times. "Where is my Uncle Russ", was a common phrase we heard from her! (Sorry Jacque!!)

My favorite was a mother gorilla with it's baby sleeping.

All in all we had an awesome time as a family, the weather couldn't have been more perfect and we were glad that the Zondervan's invited us to go with!

My first blog is going to be about me/us. I am Cassie, wife to Jeff. We have been married for 12 years. I am a mother to Dakotah, 6, and Lindy, 2. We have an 8 year old yellow lab, Hassey. I enjoy scrapbooking, making cards and name verses. What is a name verse? I take a verse and a name and combine them.....if I figure out how to put a picture in I'll show ya! Jeff owns his own photography studio, Designer Images in downtown Pella in the Molengracht. He is a Prairie City police reserve and enjoys going to shoot guns whenever possible. Dakotah is going to be in First grade and loves to play tball, shoot her gun, and Disney channel and just lost her first tooth! Lindy is a typical 2 year old. She enjoys playing with her big sister and the dog. she is starting to potty train which will be a great releif when she is!
